INKCF Integrated Network of Kunduz Civil Foundation

To BRD office in Kabul

Establishing new network of civil society organization in Kunduz province by initiation of Kunduz Mediothek, for assisting of BRD organization and continuing share activities, is the most efficient step in civil society for developing the join activities in Kunduz.
In May 2011, a join meeting of some civil society organizations in Kunduz resulted establishment of a working network of civil society consist of eight different organizations. The set up of this consortium was coordinated in cooperation and advice of BRD organization. The network officially started working in a gathering by leadership of Kunduz Mediothek Community Center.

Network member organizations are as following:

  • Mediothek Community Center Kunduz
  • Reconstruction Organization of Peace for Afghanistan’s Women
  • Marwa Cultural and Development Organization (MCDO)
  • Social Society Organization for Better Future (SSOBF)
  • Women and Young Organization for Peace and Development (WYPADO)
  • Jahan Noma Culture and Social Organization
  • Ilham Culture and Donating Organization (ICC)
  • Radio Charagh, as media partner.

At the beginning of establishing the above mentioned network of civil foundations, Abdulla Rasuly Kunduz Mediothek coordinator and head of the newly formed network, briefly spoke and described the aims of the network which was established in cooperation of BRD organization.

The aim of the network is to sharing the civil and development activities of organizations and capacity building through the exchanging of experience.

INKCF members

The network members were eager to establish the network, due to the fact that such a network are benefitcial in capacity development and fighting against corruption.
The network has been conducting meetings since the establishment on monthly basis. Important topics were covered during the discussions. In addition, the member organizations reported about their activities in these monthly meetings. Problems were also discussed and solutions were sought.
These activities helped establish cooperation among the civil societies to seek better ways for solving their problems.
Also the representatives of the network participated in several workshops, trainings and seminars that were held in Kunduz and Kabul by BRD organization.
Information about the ways to struggle against corruption, forms and new shapes for civil works and obtain information about issues like corruption, good governess, reporting lack of transparency, and etc is the important achievements of the network member in cooperation with BRD organization.
These achievements that can pave the way to the future, especially it will help fighting against corruption in the future.
It must be mentioned, that network members performed useful activities, share their efforts and experiences in their monthly meetings.
Summary, followings are some of the activities performed by the member organizations of the network:

Conference of importance of media and good governance

This conference held in Kunduz Hotel, some journalists, representative of governments and civil organization, elders, intellectual figures from Takhar, Kunduz, Baghlan and Badakhan provinces participated.

In addition of talking and group works that were performed in 1st and 2nd part of the conference, panel discussions were done by three panelists. Important discussions were made about good governance and the media role on this issue. The conference run for three days.

Conference about Islamic Sharia, Constitution and Human Rights

The participant of this conference ware mainly teachers and students of law faculty from Kunduz and Takhar Universities. About 600 people participated.
The main discussion of the conference was on issues like meaning of justice in Islam, Sharia Law and Islamic Punishment law.
The conference had an important rule in increasing information of teachers and student regarding to Islamic Sharia

Conducting Workshops

Kunduz Mediothek held several training workshops during this period in Kunduz. The workshops were about journalism and peace issues.
The participants of workshops were mainly local journalists and member of governmental and nongovernmental media. Conducting such conferences had lots of benefits for standardized media activities, writing leads, kind of reports and round tables included these trainings. It is important to mention that this is a short overview of the activities.

Mediothek implement a lot of activities such as conferences, several training workshops and other activities.

2. Summery activities of WYAPADO

Holding conference of Ulama responsible leadership:

This conference was held to discuss about the most important elements and issues political and administrate.
This conference discussed about Islamic Law, about the rule of law in Afghanistan and existing problems on the way of rule of law. The participated Ulamas shared their views with the officials, too.

3. Summery activities of IWOPPR

Gender conference from the women point of view:

The participants of this conference ware representatives of civil society especially of women right activists and representative of women department from Kunuz, Takhar Baghlan and Badakhshan provinces.
Some governmental and non-governmental individuals spoke about women difficulties and the way forward.
The panel discussions were very important in this conference that was mainly about gender and its importance in community. Also rule of women were discussed in this gathering.

Information, Legal and Gender workshop:

This workshop held in NE region (Kunduz, Takhar, Baghlan and Badakhshan) provinces. Professional trainers assigned among actives of civil society for civil society governmental organizations. Workers engaged to law issues and house wives. In this workshop equilibrium of men and women right in Islamic Sharia and law was discussed. Besides the problems of women in society and the way for solving them were discussed. The result collected at the end of program and referred to relative organizations. These workshops continued for five months.

Marwa construction and development organization programs

Marwa construction and development organization is one of active organizations in Kunduz. Especially work about the issues belongs to women one part of this organization activities is poultry for poor families in local areas of Kunduz and training about rise of hen. This program developed the economic situation of beneficiaries. This process is continuing.

Jahan Noma cultural and social

The important activities of this organization were conducting several radio programs by radio Charagh assistance. Radio programs were mainly about good governance, human right, straggling against administrative corruption, living environment and some important issues of the day.

The people attend these programs were law, governance, living environment and other important issue experts. The beneficiaries of these programs were mainly men, women and youths.

Ilham cultural and charity organization

ICC is another member of this network that performs lots of activities from establishing up to now for example:

  • Training youths in education al field and preparing the ground for those that are unable to learn and go to school
  • Sewing workshop for poor women and guardian women
  • English, Computer and religious classes
  • Cultural and Social gatherings

It is worth of mentioning that the civil society cooperation network in Kunduz can perform big programs like: conferences, training and controlling workshops, investigation and research programs, cultural and social gatherings and public information programs for have a mutual cooperation.
